October 9th to 15th, 2024, Professor Kevin Miller from the Psychology
Department at the University of Michigan visited the Faculty of Psychology at
Beijing Normal University to engage in a series of activities aimed at
deepening academic cooperation and exchanges between the two institutions.
During this visit, the Faculty of Psychology BNU and the University of Michigan
signed a new five-year memorandum of cooperation. Professor Luo Liang, Dean of
Faculty of Psychology, attended and signed the new memorandum, marking a new
phase in collaboration between the two universities.
On
October 10th, the International Collaboration Office, in collaboration with the
representatives of the Faculty’s undergraduate teaching team, invited Professor
Kevin Miller to a symposium on undergraduate education. Professor Wang Jun,
Professor Luo Fang, and staff members Zhang Xuemin, Peng Huamao, Zhou Ke, Liu
Yan, Wang Mengyuan, and staff from the Faculty’s International Collaboration
Office attended the meeting. During the symposium faculty discussed potential
opportunities for undergraduate student exchanges and joint cultivation
programs for students with the University of Michigan.
On
October 12th, Professor Kevin Miller delivered a lecture titled "The
History and Future of Cross-Cultural Research and Exchanges Between BNU and the
University of Michigan" to students. Vice Dean Wang Jun, on behalf of the
Faculty of Psychology, extended a warm welcome to Professor Kevin Miller and
highly praised his outstanding contributions to the cooperation between the two
universities. In his lecture, Professor Kevin Miller shared the historical
evolution and future prospects of cross-cultural research and exchanges between
Michigan and BNU, encouraging students to actively participate in international
exchanges and enhance their cross-cultural research capabilities.

This
visit has not only facilitated mutual understanding between the two
universities but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation projects
such as faculty and student exchanges and joint curriculum development. Looking
ahead, the Faculty of Psychology BNU will continue to uphold the concept of
open cooperation and work hand in hand with world-renowned universities such as
the University of Michigan to jointly promote the prosperous development of
psychological research and education.
